Inverse

She's A Petal
And
He's A Thorn

From A Different
Type Of Story
Since They Were
Born

She's The Opposite
Of He
Such As A Butterfly
And He's
A Killer Bee

She Becomes A Victim
To His Sting
And He's Amazed
By The Colors
Of Her Wings

The Life He's Led
Has Left Him With Some Scars
But She Viewed Them All
As Mere
Beauty Marks

How often
 do we listen without listening
to our favorite artists

Comforted by the sound
of their voice
as it engulfs our being

Until
a particular phrase accompanied
with a musical backdrop
captivates our attention

Undivided.

Moments ago
As I listened to the words above
 in italics

Jaheim & Mary J. Blige
illustrated opposites attract
in unconventional
happenstance.

Transporting me back in time
remembering  an inclination previously expressed
attaching a new memory:

Have you ever heard a song
and felt the musicians ____
emitting through your speakers?

A sensation that causes a fluttering
in the center of your chest;
where emotions are stirred.

Trying to understand why it's enchanting.
What about yourself or apart of your life,
does it remind you of.

Making you press
repeat
over and over again.

These are the songs
we love most.
They speak of, to, and through us...

To me,
memory is beautiful.

Remembrances that are unexpected
or purposely rehashed.
Holds the pieces of where we've been & who we are.

For every blemish that cannot be erased
imbedded into our physiques

For all the words never spoken aloud
echoing in our minds

For every missed chance encounter
due to overthinking

For every second opportunity
because we didn't appreciate the first

Are lessons within
the vitality of living
never the totality of
our essence.

With understanding
the transference of energy
and the importance of
vibratory states
which effects our being

I surround myself with frequencies of love
as a constant reminder
of reciprocation.

To never become fixated
by a sentence
on a page
in the book of life.

Knowing
with every breath
that is taken
new words are written.

With every individual
we encounter
adds (+)

A comma, exclamation point,
predicate, verb, abbreviation,
question mark,
semicolon

or

An indefinite
period
to illustrate an
ending.

As our stories continue.
